A core aim of In Our Hands is for the project to be shaped and developed by the community it serves. We’ve offered regular volunteering and community events for years, and grown a beautiful environment for coming together. Our ‘Community Building Days’ have been at the heart of this - these events offer non-transactional ways to get involved in the project, learn new skills whilst meeting new people, and contribute to our project!

With a communal lunch and plenty of tea breaks for chit-chat and sitting around the fire, it is an an environment that participants have described as 'feeling like home'. But unlike the boring stereotype, it's not just nattering we get up to; past community days have involved building cabins and outdoor shelters, work benches, furniture, creative painting/decorating and working on our 'mini food forest' garden project.
